Brush all areas of your teeth, including the tongue and roof of your mouth, for several minutes. Replace your toothbrush when the bristles wear down. Rinse thoroughly after brushing. Brush your teeth twice daily, in the morning and at bedtime, for healthy teeth. For areas between teeth, use dental floss to remove food particles and plaque. Wrap the floss around your fingers and guide it between all teeth to the gum line. Floss at night before bed to ensure clean teeth. At Nirmal Super Specialty Dental Hospital KIDS, we focus on preventing dental decay by applying fluorides to the teeth in the appropriate amount. These fluorides can be applied either professionally or at home. At home, fluoride toothpaste and mouthwashes are available for use.
Ideally, children should use fluoride toothpaste and mouthwashes when they can spit out the excess, typically around the age of four or older.
Professionally applied fluorides, such as gels and varnishes, are administered by a pediatric dentist and can only be applied in a dental office.
Specialized Fluoride Care for Specific Needs
